DESCRIPTION:

Affiliate Technical Support Coordinator - New Media/Web and Linear and Content Distribution



Summary:

Affiliate Technical Support Coordinator needed to perform the following primary duties:

1) Provide technical support to HBO affiliates that are offering HBO web-based media services to their customers

2) Provide technical support to HBO affiliates for the delivery of linear programming via satellite/broadcast network systems.



This assignment requires familiarity with IT fundamentals, web technology, file-based media delivery, and broadcast/satellite technologies (A HUGE PLUS).



We are seeking contractors for a minimum of 3-6 months for all shifts.



Responsibilities:



DIFFERENT SHIFTS ARE AVAILABLE, INCLUDING OVERNIGHTS AND WEEKENDS. MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO LONG ISLAND DURING OFF-PEAK HOURS:

• Provide key communications and coordination between affiliate contact(s) and HBO internal technical and customer service teams in order to resolve technical issues affecting the availability of new HBO media services.

• Respond to trouble tickets and/or calls/emails from affiliates regarding technical issues which affiliate could not resolve by executing prompt assessment of the trouble report, and escalating as appropriate.

• Document events in the HBO ticketing system; assign tickets to other HBO stakeholders as appropriate.



Based on severity of problem, determine whether or not to escalate to on-call HBO personnel during off-hours based on established criteria

• Monitor and document the resolution process, ensure timely response and follow up with internal and affiliate contact(s).



HBO Linear:

Respond to HBO affiliates (via the HBO “Hotline” phone and e-mail) regarding technical problems or questions regarding satellite reception of HBO services.

Work directly with affiliates, vendor operations staff, and HBO departments to identify and help to resolve reception problems with linear services.

Create and distribute various reports using internal databases and participate and database QC projects as requested.



Requirements:

• Possess excellent customer service skills, interpersonal and telephone style. Must be able to speak clearly and be easily understood on the telephone.

• Ability to follow-through. Be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and be able to multitask effectively when necessary.

• Possess excellent problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in a help-desk or customer service type environment.

• Understanding of general IT concepts, including the Internet as a media delivery platform, Windows, MS Office Suite, use of relational database reporting tools.

• Familiarity with media distribution technologies (satellite, cable, telco).

• Schedule includes evenings, overnights and/or weekends.

• Experience in the cable or other telecom business a plus
